-
Let me get this right, you have broken the case, the keyboard is dead and not working and you want how much?
-
@jimbo100
hmmm, well lets see mr Jimbo
its got:
Clockport adaptor $25
DVD/CDRW internal $50 (on average)
Keyboard Letters $5
Spray Paint $8
Kickstart 3.1 $30
Extra 1Mb $25
4 gig HD $15
not to mention all the apps on this. and more.
oh...and not to mention the A600 itself($75) revision 2B I beleive. :-)
well worth it? heck yes
-
is this a PAL unit or NTSC ?
-
@countzero
NTSC
are you really in Japan? are you asian?

What have you done to it! (http://www.animalpicturesarchive.com/animal/SOUND/chimp.wav)
-
Well that is a little high there leirbag28, since it has so many problems. Now on the other hand, if everything was A-OK, that would be a fair price.
US NTSC A600's do fetch much more than PAL units. I should know I have 3. :banana:

yes
are you asian?
Well, little bit difficult to answer that question, technically yes, but I'm not native japanese.
-
Really, sell it in parts. IMHO a broken A600 is worthless unless it has a working accelerator.
-
I bid $5 for the spraypaint.
$6 if its back in the can...
:-P
-
The A600 is not broken
the lid doesnt close because of those tabs that crack of easily. The motherboard works fine....this keyboard things have happned before.I suspect its more the cable than the Keyboard chip.
anyway.I can make this thing close if need be.....all one has to do is insert plasctic tubes to drill new holes into so that one can screw the case closed without the need to make holes on the case.
I think if I were to sell this on Ebay.....with everything except the Motherboard.....that it would fetch about the same amount of cash :-D
but I will see what I can fix on this if no one is interested....

countzero, konketsu?

@leirbag28
Not to hijack this thread, but a little OT question though: you know of Ys?
Nice work with the A600, though!
-
いいえ、混血じゃなくて日本に住んでるトルコ人です。トルコってヨーロッパとアジアの間ででも元は中央アジアから来てる人なのでアジア人というほうが正しいと思ったわけ。
nice that this forum supports unicode :) somebody should make use of the wasted character space ...
-
@Legerdemain
Ys? have no idea what your talking about :-)

成程。やっぱり、日本人の間で旅人がちょっと珍しいと思いました。

@leirbag28
My favourite action/RPG series ever.
Some pictures of the Ys 3 remake recently released for Windows (http://www.rpgfan.com/pics/ys-oathoffelghana/index.html)
-
I like Shenmue and Phantasy Star Online v1.2!
-
I wouldnt buy a non-working A600 for that kind of money. I'll give you $40
-
He said it works, it is just the keyboard needs some work and it is not in perfect physical condition. But yeah I would say $50 USD is about right as is.
-
Come on.......you guys are being silly.
$40 or $50 is how much the Clockport adaptor in it and the DVD/CDRW combo drive are worth alone.
seems like I will just keep it, and put it on eBay later after a few adjustments.
heck maybe I will keep it if I end up putting the Matte finish.
-
Leirbag28, then you need to part off the expensive items and sell the A600 alone. The price will still be about $50 with all the extras taken off and sold separately. Thats why people suggest if you want to squeeze out every bloody cent you need to part it out!! lol
-
I would hate to break the system apart.
But I bet I can get alot more for this system on eBay.
I will probably do just that if I end up needing the cash.
-
It's got to be fully assembled to capture the imagination of the buyer or they simply won't dare to be as ambitious as you were and assemble it.
Maybe at least explain how a DVD could work in an A600 and highlight how such a system could entertain and be of practical use.
You could be left with worthless parts if you split your A600 so try to build it before selling seperates.
That SX32 you have though... it fetched something like $600 the last time I saw it, and that was just a 33MHz version!
-
@Hyperspeed
The DVD side of the drive, just consider it for Future expansion....its there! otherwise it can be just for reading Data DVD's if there is a driver (dont know) the CDROM has its obvios benefits, including turning this into a KAraoke Machine(CD+G) and CDTV......as well as having 3 seperate audio OUTS if you add a MASPlayer...and a mini mixer.............this is a great setup for DJing! its that simple. I have various DJ software on it inlcuding BoomBox and NASP, HippoPlayer, DSS8+ 2.0 software, MegaCDPlayer.....all which can be used simultaneously to mix music LIVE!.
AsimCDFS would be ideal to read CD's and IDE Fix 4 way IDE adaptor (not included) to get the CDROM connected to the IDE interface.
This is a cool system.
As far as my SX32 Pro....I have had offers of $500 amongst other cool stuff...I rejected all offers. The more I attempt to even consider selling the SX32 the less I want to..........its simply because of the combination of the CD32/SX32 and TVi Modem with remote............it becomes a Superb POINT OF SALE system to do excellent presentations like the pros
I have gone to conventions, Film events, Church services and other events where PowerPoint was used........I saw nothing that the Amiga could not do........and not only that..that I myself could do better....and these were professional presentations I speak about. SCALA can do them all
I just wish there was a 68060 for the CD32 and that the DCTV was compatible with it...and a clockport adaptor for USB and ethernet and DVD decoder .....WooHoo!
-
Did you find out then if it's possible to use the Dataflyer SCSI on the SX32's IDE port? That would open up the CD32 to scanners, card readers and CDRW drives...
I see an FMV cart on eBay, maybe you could build a hybrid A600/CD32 video titling/gaming/movie machine with integrated keyboard!
-
Hmm, I may have to look into that DataFlyer SCSI thing :-)
as for the FMV card thing, I used to have one with an SX-1...............been trying to get someone to build a passthrough for the FMV card on the SX32 with also a clockport.........the FMV card can fit perfectly under the SX32 Pro.
I hope someone takes this on as the CD32 needs a clockport adaptor anyway.
Might as well add a Passthrough for the FMV card as well
-
Hmm, I sold my A600 with 030 50mhz, 32mb ram, pcmcia network card, extra chip ram and a 2gig hd for $150, but that was years ago, I love the look of it, but I'd rather use $5 on spraypaint and use the rest of the money on a 030 card for the one in my garage I picked up for $15 a while ago ;)
-
@NyQuill
Obviously that was a massive good deal, both what you sold and what you obtained.
You will not get an A600 for $15 today, nor an Apollo 630 for $30
I seen the card go for almost $200 alone on ebay.
Show me prices like that.and I got myself a New 68030 and A600....I would love to hook this thing up some more.
-
Price/value depends on how strong the Amiga scene is in your area?
Here in Aus the scene is all but dead, there are loads of old A500's around, so they dont fetch anything, Ive seen them in charity stores for AUD$5-10 with a crapload of disks and bits.
The A600 is virtually an A500 and though much rarer here, they still only fetch pocket change. Even A1200's go for ~AUD$100-200, when sold by "people in the know" to other "people in the know".
My point is, (outside the community) these things are just -really old computers- and not worth anything.
