hey guys. getting this hardware here - will it definitely work on a standard vga monitor. i am really wanting to get it and i ask if anyone else has one?

Short answer, no. This is not a scandoubler. You will not be able to play lemmings full screen on a SVGA monitor.

hmmm, looks like ill just leave it and use a tv with scart! no way i am getting a monitor and paying fkw for the delivery!

I have one of these (or had rather, my A1200 is retired now).

It will allow you to use VGA monitor, but only using the VGA compatible modes. Like Red said, it won't allow you to see games/demos etc.

It will be fine for regular desktop use, though.

yeah well, i would be using WB a lot. but i also love my retro games too :(
