Title: Cannot open resource.library, version 44

I was just trying to get ZoneXplorer to work on my OS3.9 A1200 but I was getting an error that it couldn't create a gadget class. I read the manual and it said it may need ClassAct. So I installed ClassAct and rebooted. Now on boot I get an error 'Cannot open "resource.library", version 44. Unable to run "AmiDock"'.

The version of resource.library is v44. I have copied the classes drawer from the OS3.9 CD over the top of the ones on the hard drive and replaced any which already existed, but this has made no difference. Nothing has changed with my 680x0 libraries.

What can I do  :-?

I had the same problem after installing ClassAct. If I remember correctly I reinstalled the BoingBags and everything was allright.

Thanks Leo! After you mentioned that I remembered I had a backup of my SYS partition which had BB2 installed. I renamed the classes drawer to classes1 and copied the classes drawer from my backup, and now it's working :-)

I'm still getting the original error when I run ZoneXplorer but I will start a separate thread about that.

Dunno, but installing ClassAct onto a 3.9 system allready including a newer ClassAct (ReAction that is) doesn't sound right....

yes Moto, Kronos is right. ZoneXplorer doesn't needs ClassAct on a AmigaOS3.9 system.

If you have installed ClassAct, some component of Reaction has been replaced.

So delete the Gadgets and Images dir along arexx.class, requester.class and window.class from SYS:Classes/ and copy the one from the AmigaOS3.9 CD

I didn't realise Reaction is an updated version of ClassAct. I have replaced the classes drawer entirely with a version from a backup. I assume that's enough to get Reaction working properly again???

However, I'm still getting this error (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23702).

ahhh! thanks Thomas! png.datatype isn't present on AmigaOS3.9....

Edit- just noticed thats present in the ZX doc

REQUIREMENTS:

   68K VERSION:

    - AmigaOS 3.5+
    - png.datatype (required to load the GUI gfx)
    - An HI/TRUE Color Workbench running on a CGX/P96 compatible gfx card
    - A very fast 68K with FPU

sorry Motorollin but not even in a century, i thought at that!
