This is no guessing. I got a mail from Gunne last night after he was talking to Alan last tuesday. I was told that Eyetech will have many more A1XE-boards by the 20th of May, and will then ship them over to Gunne, who will then give a bunchs of boards to Datakompaniet...
This means i will have my board by the end of the month, to the first week of June.. :-)

By Kryst, I hope you're right. ;-)
I won't hold my breath though.

Don't complain, thats a further nine opportunities for
trolls to come and start a >90 post thread. What joy we will
have.

Troll. :roflmao:

Yep ;-) :-P
Or is it troll deterrant? :-P
-
Will we drink at the 90th? :-D

If that's how you see it, then the original nine messages in these "update" threads would be the real trolls, as each of these "updates" about the Teron boards so far during the last year-and-a-half or so has proven to be false/vapour/over-optimistic/misleading/Helgis, and thus expectedly been hammered into the ground. It'd be the original message in each new of these threads that's "trolling" for flames. (And the flamers would be feeding the troll, and round and round we go...)

I think I'll have to drink at the fountain of youth, in order that I might still be alive when either of my new machines arrive. :-D ;-)
As Diana Ross once warbled:
"I'm still waiting, woahohahoh, still waiting..." :lol:
Keeping The Faith, it's....

Ive got shots lined up.
If we put our minds to it we could have a drinking game based on the usual posting myths of the Amiga community. Ill do the ones that are put in to wind up
people waiting for AmigaONE and AOS4 and you do the ones to wind up Pegasos/MorphOS owners and those waiting for Pegasos II and the G4 cards for Pegasos 1:
Consume 1 inch of whisky every time someone posts that the Amiga One is just a standard PC and that somehow the amazingly similar Pegasos is a Custom Amiga.
Consume a bottle of beer every time someone brings up the Party Pack and calls it a scam.
Consume a six pack every time someone calls Amiga Inc
theifs and liars.
Consume a thimbleful of sherry every time someone fails
to differentiate between Amiga Inc and Eyetech/Hyperion and "questions" whether or not if Amiga Inc goes down what will happen to AOS4.
Consume a girly pint of shandy if someone mentions that they are going to wait for the ( jam tomorrow ) Pegasos II because it will kick A1 arse for an unspecified reason.
Consume a yard of ale every time someone brings up the Amiga Inc licensing/branding scheme and also consume a bonus packet of pork scratchings if someone links to Seehunds petition.
-
Of course thats a gross oversimplification and who said the trolls were those that disagree with the over-optimists?
-
@DaveP
No drink for a mention of free T-shirts? :-P
-
If Ray Akey and Wayne Hunt have an argument on the thread then you must book for and attend the next local beer-fest and sample every beer on sale.
If AmigaWorld.net, Mike Bouma or 10 questions with Fleecy Moss crops up in the thread then you must stand on the desk and sing your national anthem and down a pint of drinking cider.
-
If anyone mentions t-shirts, eat another crisp but first soak it in vodka.
If anyone mentions "on schedule and rockin'" or "just another two weeks" ( or similar ) drink a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale without vomiting ( vomit or observable gagging means you must drink another bottle )
-
@DaveP
Shandy LOL! :lol: :lol:
-
If anyone brings up that the A1 boards are manufactured in the Far East ( or that the Pegasos is manufactured in Germany ) as if that is some kind of debating point that should impact consumer choices then drink a bottle of leibfraumilch but first dilute it with saki and order number 22 on the local chinese takeway menu.

Don't say things like that. I have almost spilled it all on my Club Amiga T-Shirt :-)
-
DaveP
Well.. that's getting too expnesive not to mention unhealhy.... But what the heck, there's only one Amiga ... :-)
-
A1XE-volume shipping to start 20th of May!!!!!
Again??
I thought that the A1 allready shipped in quantaty? :-? :-? :-?
-
The A1 did ship in volume in its A1SE incarnation. In the A1XE incarnation I don't know.
-

That is one mighty fine Ale if you ask me! :-)
-
@DaveP
And for balance,
Spend a week in rehab every time Helgis posts a thread with more than three exclamation marks in its title ...

OK!
-
@SlimJim
Im still waiting for someone to do the "MorphOS/Pegasos drinking game" ;-)
Anything to push it up to 90 to get my free drink. ;-)
Actually its nice to see people not taking it too seriously for once...... its good to laugh at ourselves :-D
-
@tmhg
But have you ever downed a whole one without gagging? Its always the last bit of the bottle for me.
Or it was.
Cant drink now!
-
Again??

Yes, it is (the -XE that is, the -SE has been out for quite
some time). But the batches come in "waves" depending on
throughflow from Taiwan and the processing at Eyetech.
Plus not every board of each batch is handed out to dealers
(see an earlier post in another thread about the picking
order). What Helgis means is that the next "wave" to
dealers will apparently be coming around May 20.

This thread is hilarious - keep it going! :-D

Me neither. I'm only allowed coffee at work.
oh yeah ! see wot ya mean !
I used to drink the stuff like it were Squash - always improved the Scrumpy's Moshpit antics !
:-D
Metal !
Hands up who's got thiers (mobo or otherwise) from Eyetech yet then ?!

@Dave:
I like a drink as much as the next man - in fact probably more than the next man, unless he's Oliver Reed - but I don't think my liver could handle that.
:pint:

@Wilse
I`m surprised - didn`t u Scots invent drinking ? :-)

Not to worry, if you interpolate the rule I added
above, you will realistically spend most of your time in a
rehab anyway. :-D

So WHERE in ther "far east" are the AmigasOne/Teron boards manufactured anyways? This makes for a good trivia game!
How about drink a shot until you can actually guess the correct location?
Iraq?
India?
phillipines? (In C= CD32 factory?)
china?
hong kong?
Taiwan?
Where? :-D
-
I have to ask - how many people before opening this thread simply *knew* that it was started by Helgis75? :-)
-
When did you find out that the AmigaOne was shipping 20th May?
-
Hmmm...
I dropped by Datakompaniet last week, and they said that they had already sold four AmigaOnes... And one Pegasos IIRC.
Helgis, are you sure that they haven't already sold yours..?? In that case you might have to wait for a new batch, and we will have these threads until Xmas.. at least!
:-D :-D :-D
(Sorry... I couldn't help it..)
PS: The day AmigaOS4 is released, drinks are on me!!
-
Drinks, sounds great to me. :-P

Well, anyone saying that is a troll. Both boards are "PC like" and that's how they should be, anyway. :-o :-o :-o :-o

They are both, consume a six pack :-)

Uhm, those four boards was from the previous batch. Datakompaniet are supposed to receive a couple of more boards once Gunne gets the next batch the 20th...
Also, at the moment there's been at least as many G4-XE combos shipped as there was G3-SE boards (as far as I can tell, at least), and there's also been sold some XE boards with G3 CPU (it's a really excellent CPU, even if it lacks altivec. It's faster on normal operations... And tolerates more overclocking without expensive cooling).

Which is why I bought it.
