Title: where to buy a cpu socket for Apollo 620 Turbo
Post by: number-one on July 22, 2006, 01:04:14 PM
Hello

I would like to replace the cpu socket of my Apollo 620 Turbo. It's plug in on the top of the 68000.

Where to buy a new same cpu socket ?

Hi,

Have you tried a local electronics store? They cost about 7eu depending on the pins and model.

Greetings Henk

Yes, very helpful.

I'm sure you can get this from semiconductor distributors - I think it's a standard JDEC form factor.

Make sure that the socket that you buy is deep enough, otherwise you'll have a hard time making the card clip onto the 68k cpu. Buy a quality socket as the original one is quite fragile.
