Title: Cart Before the Horse?
Post by: irishmike on July 21, 2006, 03:15:02 PM
Hello All:

Recently, I went back to my beloved Macintosh Mini from a PC platform (still really hate MS).   In doing so, I am stuck as to how to get around this issue.

I will be installing my Blizzard 1230 MK IV with SCSI EDIT:  (into my A1200) very shortly, I am then going to hook my Plextor CDRW external CD unit to the bus.  This is all well and good except, that I have the CDFS files on my Macintosh or on CD.  Unless I miss my guess, they will need to be on the A1200 to access the CD ROM -- hence my problem.   BTW:  All the networking software is also on the CD or on the Mac.

So the question is:  If I can not transfer the CDFS files to the Amiga but have the Blizzard SCSI install disk -- which I am not sure would actually install a CD device and CDFS, Do I need to seek a PC to put this stuff onto diskettes?

The OS BTW on my A1200 is currently WB 3.1

Thanks,

Mike

With SCSI you might be able to use the OS3.1 CDFS.  Just edit CD0 appropriately.

@Mike,

I know it's being pedantic, but I was going to ask -- based on your question -- how you were installing a Blizzard 1230 in your Mac Mini...  :)

@wayne:

Hmmm.  I suppose I could make a fair amount of money if I could get that working on my Mac Mini :-D
