When did you order it ?

I got an email yesterday, it said ......

Large deliveries at regular intervals hope to have the back log cleared soon.

Amazing 3 variables of unknown quantity in the same sentence.

So I'm still non the wiser.

@

agafaster, the mist coming in from the trent will be because you'll have to sell the trent end stand when you get knocked out the play offs.

Come on Sheff Utd, Reading & Wolves !!!!!

I ordered my board towards the end of November and haven't heard a thing yet.
I'm still waiting for my Peg too, although I'm expecting that iminently.

Like wise IIRC we ordered them on the same day, so
we should get them around the same time.

"Two more weeks" TM  ??????

Don't worry, guys! Just recently got mail from Gunne. He talked to Alan and was told that the second, big A1XE-shipment will arrive to them the 20th of May, so don't worry!  :-)

If I recall it correctly, the picking order is such:

1)  Orders to dealers are dealt with first.

2) Followed by people who ordered a AOne-SE from
Eyetech last year and then changed their order to an XE.

3) After that boards are sent to people ordering bare boards
from Eyetech.

4) ... And finally people ordering complete systems from
Eyetech.

So depending on the dealer's foresight and capability to
process orders (and what kind of backlog they've got), us
ordering from a local dealer might actually be getting our
orders before people ordering last year ... :-P

... and as Helgis said, GGS will get their next batch of
boards May 20.
.

I think eyetech are shipping boards to their customers as well, though.

@amigamad,

Good for you, but I am not ordering sh!t untill I see a completed product and software support, otherwise it would be like wiping my ass with hundred dollar bills.

I also dont like all this "WERE GOING TO TELL YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NOTHING AT ALL"  scheme that the companies like eyetech and AInc have come up with, its kind of like watching extreamly bad coming attractions of next seasons TV shows, that should have been out two years ago.

Have to say those Aones must be excellent... With this long time to deliver few hundred boards they must have been hand made  :-P

I ordered mine direct from Eyetech last march, and recieved it almost
two weeks ago, the day after my money was transferred to Eyetech's
account, so turn around must be pretty quick.

I finally got all the other components together on monday.  The A1
board comes with 2 CDs, Debian Linux and the A1 boot install CD.  The
Boot CD comes with a complete UAE 3.1 install with licenced Rom,
along with documentation in PDF format.  The install guide and jumper
settings are also available as an RTF file, I think there may also be
an HTML version.

Installation is a whizz, as the instruction are clear, and easy to
follow.  If you do have any difficulties, there is plenty of help
available from the A1 dev list, which all customers are subscribed to.

The only problems I had, were with an old CD-Rom drive from 1997,
which stopped the Linux install for a while because it didn't work
properly with the new ATA100 cables I got for the A1. This was
remedied by using a newer UDMA CDRW, poached from my A1200.

The other problem was with an ATI Rage Pro (not the recommended
128), which wouldn't let the KDE desktop start for some reason, this
was remedied with a Voodoo 3, I got both cards for free, but intend to
get a Radeon when OS4 is available.

I don't mind sticking with Linux for a while, I still have my A1200,
and getting to know Linux could prove to be useful in the future.
