Title: mediator+power
Post by: Galaxyc on July 20, 2006, 12:53:04 PM
I am interested in buying a mediator 1200LT4 board and i would like to know if it is nessesary to use the build AT power socket . Now i have converted an ATX power supply so i can power my A 1200  from its regular socket and also have made a switch but wondering if the mediator board needs extra power at its own or the current way of powering would be enough ... ?  :-?

Yes, it needs extra power.

in fact, ALL mediators can power completely the amiga1200 from their power input... no need to use the a1200 motherboard psu connector anymore!

I found my BPPC/Mediator 1200 tower to be unstable using just the Mediator to power it all.

I have power going into the floppy power connector, into the Mediator, and also I have spliced a lead from the PSU that connects to the A1200 mobo psu connector too.

Rock solid stability now.

So if i buy the LT4 Mediator I must buy the converter too for the ATX power to AT ... Well then maybe i ll better buy the Mediator 1200SX  which has 2 more pci slots and comes quite at same price ... what do you think ? Also has it got any way of swithing the Psu off from the mediator ?
