Hi, i was searching PPC stuff for my new Blizzard PPC, and i read that MorphOS 0.4 can use AGA chipset through Cybergraphx AGA driver, i don't have a BVisionPPC (i have a Virge gfxboard with Mediator).
I found a installation guide here:
http://www.morphos-news.de/help.php?lg=en&id=inst
But i can't download this MorphOS version (morphosuser-150201.lha), and i tried to find through google but all links are broken. Someone have this file?
Because there is not another possibility to run other versions of MorphOS with AGA since later versions require 16 bits screens and AGA driver of Cybergraphx don't have a 16 bits emulation to convert it at 8 bits of depth. Exist other versions of MorphOS that runs with AGA chipset?
Thanks in advance...

I think you should ask on Morphzone.
I've read that someone has resolved many problems of MorphOS for WarpUP by using 0.4 install CD.

In what ways?

Running MorphOS 0.4 is not maybe very useful. Without native MUI it is little slow. There was MUIPPC for MorphOS 0.4 but it probably exist nowhere by now.

Because it supported many GFX drivers. Some were able to use 0.4 drivers with MOS PowerUP 1.4.5 to support their configuration.
(If I rememeber well whole story...)
Or perhaps it was the fact that MOS 0.4 has the HAL for Mediator PCI expansion card? :-?
(Mumble, mumble... It was soooo long ago, that I heard of these dirty tricks of replacing files of actual MorphOS PowerUP with ancient 0.4 files... Sorry I can't remember all things precisely as I were young and fresh minded...) :boohoo:

As I undestood, seems that he is searching MOS 0.4 to replace some driver files of 1.4.5 with ancient ones.
To all:
MorphOS just catch its trackdisk.device to pilote floppy drivers on Pegasos II

Mmmh, CGXAGA driver? Never thought about that... But it will need some tweaking at least because Ambient requires 15bit or deeper display.

Huh? MOS never did. Maybe the Mediator stuff still /worked/ at some point (without MMU support), but AFAIK MorphOS never had support for the Mediator due to its banking approach.

True - still, it would be nice if there were support at least for mediator a4k, which doesn't have that many problems... ;-)

@quenthal
yeah, Mediator4000 and Prometheus would be easy to support.
Wasn't Prometheus already supported in (older) internal versions? I guess that no much code would be required to make it work with Voodoo3 and RTL8029.
Even Linux supports both Prometheus & Mediator4000 so I hope next MOS versions support these bus boards with basic non-dma drivers.
