I just got a winner tower of ebay, and tried it, it boots fine and works great of the HD... but it does not recognise any floppies inserted...
I thought the drive was damaged and exchanged it with a working one, still the same... changed the floppy cable, still the same...
u cannot read a floppy disk or format it... it gives a "cannot find cyclinder 0" error (or something similar... )
is one of the cia's dead? :-?

you can try if there is at least some signals with TrackStepper

BETTER grab another mobo, don't have electronic equipment/knowledge except a soldering iron, lol
are the ESCOM / commodore floppy drives different?
-
also u can try this
http://aminet.net/package.php?package=hard/misc/DriveTest.lha
- This programs allows you to directly control signals to floppy drives
- Shows which signals drives give to your Amiga
- GUI interface
- Very useful for repairing external/internal drives etc.

and Yes, escom use mobo hack for using std PC drives
(or it was other way?)
lucky i have only commodore machines

thanx Chain, gonna test tomorrow!

Are you sure the motherboard is being supplied with -12V - if it is just being fed through the floppy port, or through a molex hack then this could affect the floppy controller and sound iirc.
