Title: problem with floppy drive controller on 1200....
Post by: keropi on July 17, 2006, 08:51:37 PM
I just got a winner tower of ebay, and tried it, it boots fine and works great of the HD... but it does not recognise any floppies inserted...
I thought the drive was damaged and exchanged it with a working one, still the same... changed the floppy cable, still the same...
u cannot read a floppy disk or format it... it gives a "cannot find cyclinder 0" error (or something similar... )
is one of the cia's dead?  :-?

also u can try this
http://aminet.net/package.php?package=hard/misc/DriveTest.lha

- This programs allows you to directly control signals to floppy drives
- Shows which signals drives give to your Amiga
- GUI interface
- Very useful for repairing external/internal drives etc.

Are you sure the motherboard is being supplied with -12V - if it is just being fed through the floppy port, or through a molex hack then this could affect the floppy controller and sound iirc.
