What do you guyes think about the Gateway MX6124 (http://www.laptopdepot.ca/store/products.asp?Categoryid=26) Laptop second one down the list?

For the price it seems like a great buy.

Thanks Chain, with the US exchange rate and shipping plus the boarder fees the price is still better through the first place I listed as they have a store here where I live.
Also they have a one year warrentee in Canada not 90 days like in most places

There's no need to buy it from the US, TigerDirect has a Canadian store here: www.tigerdirect.ca

I bought a similar laptop (Gateway MX3558) from Futureshop during Boxing Day (I paid $899+tax IIRC). The only thing I really cared about was the weight which for my model is around 2 kg. The one you are looking at is about 1kg heavier and less powerful.

Take that into consideration if you have to travel with it, because I have travelled with a heavy laptop once, and that was the main reason why I bought this one. ;-)

I still have a spare Compaq EVO N610c laptop (P4@2ghz w/256 megs RAM and DVD-Rom) with WinXP for trade if anyone's interested.

I have an A4000 and almost an A1200, but I'm interested in trading for ethernet, graphics card (Zorro), accelerators, tower kits etc if anybody has parts but no cash and wants to trade.
