Hi:
yesterday i installed a Microbotics External 2 MB Ram Expansion on my old A1000.
After that i booted and i had still 500 kB of RAM displayed on the WB Screen. How can i know if the extra RAM is available? Is there any special tool for WB 1.3 that allocates the RAM?
Should it be displayed on the screen as xxx Fast Ram as in WB 3.X?
Best Regards

It probably isn't autoconfig and needs to use the addmem command.

Hi:
i just opened the mem expansion case, it's called starboard 2 from microbotics. I see that there are 2 missing chips called HM50256P-15.
Does anyone know if this is the reason why the board is not working? Any ideas where to get those chips?
Best Regards
Rod
p.d. I made a picture of the board with the missing mem chips. If i figure out how to post the picture i will add it.

its possible.
best source for similar chips ale old vga trident isa cards :)
(there are 4 or 8 of them usually)
typical example http://hem.passagen.se/alley_cat/Passagen/images/TridentVGA.jpg
(xxx-15 means 150ns speed, and you can use faster of course)

Hi:
i checked on http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/starboard2 and realized that there are no missing chips on the board. It's suppossed to work like that.
I still cant use the board. Any ideas where to get the diagnose disk? I downloaded the mem test disk for the MBX 1230 MA made by Microbotics and the board its not shown. Does it require any drivers?

On my A1000 there are extra memory chips soldered on top of the existing ones. I have to add that 512kB (http://home.wanadoo.nl/leof/A1000RAMCap.jpg) using addmem. Don't know about the board you are using though.
