Well, being a BIT late, managed to get an Amiga. Acutally, I got 2 of them. Both 500's. Neither one of them has software. I did get 3 disks with them, but 2 of them dont work and the 3rd boots to DOS but I am not sure what to do at this point.
These were rescued from the almost certain trip to the dumpster, and being that the C-64 was my 1st computer, I was curious about the Amiga. I almost got one back in the day, but opted for the PC.
So now I have these 2 nice Amiga's (One is more beat up than the other, but both appear to work fine) and dont have any software or clue what to do. Google searching has left me a bit dissapointed so I will swallow my pride here and ask the experts like most newbies do... :p
From what I have seen so far, which is little, I am even MORE curious about these 2 orphans and I want to be able to do SOMETHING with them to see what its all about. I should have gotten the Amiga back in the day, that much I am certain.
So if anyone can help me with what to do next or even more better where to get an OS for these, I would be most appreciative.

Next time you boot into DOS,
(called CLI for Command line interface),
Type loadwb and see what happens. You might
want to minimize the CLI window after or
get rid of it all together buy typing in
"endshell" or "endcli".

Its highly unlikely to get hold of OS 1.3 but more likely
to get Kickstart/Workbench 3.1 which most Amiga shops can sell you.
e.g. AmigaKit Shop at

Depending on your location, I'ld look out for any offers of used amiga disks. Usually they're given away for free, or for a very modest charge. Check amibench and ebay for some offers. This will give you quick access to some games (hoping that at least one of your amiga's drive is ok.) or maybe even workbench disks.
