Remove that battery from the A4000 before it leaks all over the motherboard and makes it go dead!

Man, what a find!  The 4000 is your real jewel, in my opinion.  Just keep in perspective as you're using them when exactly these Amigas were built and compare them to PCs and Macs of that time.  Say the Amiga 4000/040 vs. IBM x386/ DOS v6.22  vs. Macintosh "Performa" 400.  You'll see that the Amiga had (has) a superior design and was years if not decades ahead technilogically.  Plus the 4000 can be modernized quite nicely (with some time and money, of course) into a very respectable "modern" workstation.  Best of luck

That kind of stuff doesnt surprise me in my neck of the woods. I remeber when there are companies that would throw away their stock of Atari ST's and other equipment (I remember even seeing them chuck a iMac) because their company policies require them to "destroy" decomissioned equipment.

Nowadays there are a lot of companies that use computer equipment reclaming firms to dispose of equipment, because of the whole toxic substances in solder and stuff. Hey, it's America land of want and waste.  :pint:
