Trough it would rise the costs, why is there no official Amiga-case for the AOne? :-?
IMHO its also a part of the Amiga.
I think we lose a bit of the "old" identity now, while everbody has a normal PC case with his Amiga sitting in it.
Such a thing as corporate identity seems to be an
important thing to me - in case of the cases :-D apple is doing a good job - also if flavour is relative...

That's really a good question. :-)
All we need, is the A1-Boing-logo to stamp on the tower case we choice...
I think that people have quite a different taste of towers, so this is an independent choice really, but the only missing part is the logo thing...

but the only missing part is the logo thing...
;-) That, and seeing the Amiga name molded into the plastic just as Commodore used to do it, would bring a nostalgic tear to my eye....

I wholehartly agree with you on that. That would put a tear on my eyes too. Just hope to get my motherboard very soon... :-)

Then Do what I am doing...
Eyetech are also doing a 5.25" blanking plate (http://www.eyetech.co.uk/search.php?SearchStr=engraved&SearchCat=all+categories) with the Amiga logo engraved upon it. :-D
...I ordered one for my (soon to be ex-) Z4 tower.
(one of them little square logos with a Boing ball would be nice too !)

Is it just me, or does clicking on any little 'i' for info inco on the eyetech page, just take you to a random page of nothingness, instead of more info on the item concerned?

That's definitely a cute girly picture :-)

Hm,
sure people have thier cases allready -
but what I miss is the aha expirience when seeing some type of computer.
Your know, seeing an apple - you know its an apple. You even know what model it is.
I mean thats the way a product should identify, not only on bare technical specs.
Remember, all old Amiga-modells can be indentified by the design...
For an unique computer, whitch the Amiga has ever been, i'd like to see the apple way - specific cases
which also represent the inbuilt Amiga model.

What happened to those case designs from Naya designs??

I think Eyetech are supplying their AmigaOne systems in Z4 towers. What do you think of them?

Have you got a link to a picture of the blanking plate?

I haven`t changed my A4000D case with some high specs expansion (PCI, Tower) for the same reason : I can`t imagine my 4000 without it`s nice 4000D case, not to mention the KB. It could have been just any hardware inside (Amithlon , with the fastest 68K cpu, newer better, and more cards), but it wouldn`t feel & look like my A4000D does now.

I think there were too many people who didn't like the "umop ap!sdn" 90% clear case design. There were many who wanted custom brushed aluminum with matching keyboard and mouse, also people who wanted the standard beige box look/feel. Then there are those who want custom colors/flavors. Then you have those who hate large towers and prefer desktop cases instead. There is also a few out there who can't stand living with just 3 exposed 5.25" bays and must have a minimum of 5. My prefered case is the PC-70 from Lian-Li with a circular window and a boing ball etched glass with dark red cold cathode tubes inside.
In a nutshell, too many people wanted something different. The Cryst-O case can still be used for the AOne system, you just have to get it seperately is all.

Here were my early suggestions for radical A1 cases: :-)
AmigaOne Cases? (http://home.iprimus.com.au/vortexau/CASES.HTM)
This page was constructed back when the connection to an AGA 'board was the "way forward" -- that's the reason for the CD32 - Monolith Tower!

eyetech put an amiga bracket on mine... the new amiga logo tho, not the old italic commodore one :S

@Staticman
Have you got a picture?

@Quixote
Maybe even the names of the creators molded into the top of the case, ala A1000. That would get me blubberin' too. :-)
-
There should be a standard case and motherboards sold seperately.
Completely agree. The "Amiga" name molded into the plastic would bring a lot of old memories, and identity is one VERY hard thing to get these days. It a important opotunity that should not be thrown away.

I completely agree...
But now it seems everybody is doing some case-modding, with only one thing in mind: my pc hast to be individual an different from "normal gray"..
Maybe someone is going to develop Amiga-modding-kits, so we could change the cases of our choise to have Amiga-spirit...
