Title: Bomb attacks of 7th July 1st Anniversary
Post by: nadoom on July 07, 2006, 07:44:27 PM
Just wanted to make a post remmebering the bomb attacks in london on the 7th of July.

It is a very sad day, so many people dead, families destroyed. I am furious at what they did.
 :-(

Hum,
indeed.
it was also a  shame that there was no mention of any progress from the  G8 conference that was held at the same time and was totally overshadowed by the atrocities in London.

People who willingly and indiscriminatlely target innocent civilians, be they terrorists, "freedom fighters", soldiers, or even just drunks getting behind the wheel are simply  murdering scum. It doesn't matter the motivation behind it.

Whilst I can understand (note - comprehension of something does _not_ equate to approval) how, for instance someone who has seen their home and family directly destroyed by some aggressor may lust for revenge in a similar fashion, it doesn't justify repeating the atrocity one some other innocent bystander just because he happens to be on the other side of the divide.

As for someone not directly caught up in such a conflict to attack someone else not directly caught up in it either, simply because they feel incensed by it, they are about the lowest you can get. Not only have they committed an atrocity as revenge for something not done to them, they have targetted people not responsible for it in  the first place and finally have done exactly nothing to help the people they claim they are doing it for.

sad, very sad,

obituary of each 7/7 victim (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/uk/05/london_blasts/victims/default.stm) :-(

The anniversary of the 7/7 bombings also saw the release of a propaganda video of Shehzad Tanweer and Ayman al-Zawahiri. Seems they are trying to make a very different point with the timing of the release.

I couldn't agree more.
