Title: What can I do with a CDTV?
Post by: gurthuk on July 06, 2006, 01:25:03 AM
Fancy a new toy...

What hardware mods can I do to a CDTV?

Can I add kickstart 3.1, (A500 / A600 / A2000 version)?

Can I add a IDE / SCSI hardrive internally?

the cdtv is old and never was popular so there are not
hardware available for that console
however you can add a floppy drive and play A500 games
the cd32 console was a bit popular and yes there are hardware avilable for it like ram expansions and 030 acelerators and other modules

and for your other 2 questions the answer is no and no

bye, Laser

The answer's a little more complicated than that.

See CDTV.org.uk (http://www.cdtv.org.uk) for details on what exists. Finding it, however, is another matter.

Hi,

you can burn new Boot-Eproms and also use Kick 3.1. You can add a new SCSI-Controller with a HD under the Motherboard... A few Kick-Switchers are also available.
At the moment there are only RAM-Cards from Elbox available. Perhaps you can add a 2MB Chipram-Card...

I had a CDTV at one time, and I recall options for it like AD-IDE for the A500 working on it. Pretty much anything you could add to an A500 that didn't require the expansion port will work on a CDTV.
