Hi,
I've managed to get hold of one of these for my A4000D but as it came with no manual I'm not sure how to install it.
I know that this is complicated by the fact that this originally came in seamingly endless varieties!
Mine is the version that sits ontop of 2 chips (Lisa & Gary?) and has a ribbon cable that attaches to a 15-pin VGA on a bracket (no pass-thru from the 23-pin RGB output).
Could anyone help me with this? - I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

I have a dce flickermagic, but I use it on the 1200... just clips on 2 chips and provides a normal vga output that you a monitor or feed it on an rtg card scandoubler input...
here is what the manual says about the 4000:
SCANMAGIC FLICKERMAGIC WITH ALICE ADAPTER
This version comes with an adapter for the Alice chip, which is connected to the ScanMagic/FlickerMagic by a 2-wired cable. Put the adapter on the chip labelled U211 in the amiga4000 ("Alice" , 8374, CBM 391010). When Installing in the amiga4000 the wires must face towards the computer's front side.
now the main part (scanmagic) with the chips on-top:
This plugs on the LISA chip, in the amiga4000 Lisa is marked as U450, located about 1cm to the left of the daughterboard connector. Put the scanmagic on U450 with the ribbon cable facing towards the RGB port.
that's all, I typed the 4000 stuff of the 1 piece of paper which is the instruction for this sd/ff , no photos or anything... lol

Thanks for that, the orientation details were very helpfull, that's great.
Will let you know how I get on (but in a few weeks as I'm about to go on hols...)
Thanks again!
