Yes, here (http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=catalog/software/utilities/oxypatcher.html&cart_id=558073_508).

Some people have no manners. What happened to "please" and "thank you"? :madashell:

You should have seen the way he asked on EAB.

Guys question Please! heh , what is oxypatcher?
Softhut of course has no description

The 68060 CPU is missing some of the FPU instructions that are in the 68882 FPU (and 68040) and oxpatcher is an optimised software math library that traps these instructions and patches them with software.
A free equivalent for Phase5 & DCE accelerators was called Cyberpatcher but it is rumoured to be inferior.

The link has already been supplied in this thread.
Oxypatcher, is a 68060 event trapper, it takes illegal instructions (illegal to the 68060), that can kill the system, and rewrites them to a more friendly version, allowing code that can be sometimes fatal to a 68060, allows it to run more smoothly.
NewIcon-prefs crashed on my 4000 "Newiconprefs has issued an illegal command, terminate or suspend", I run Cyberpatcher (alternative to oxypatcher) and it now runs fine.

RUMOURED to be, it runs fine on my 4000, then again i have not got Oxypatcher to compare it.

absolutely agree motorollin! and this is one of the reasons, i'll never reply/help to "some" anymore. (and not only here on AOrg)

What I've seen, mostly Oxypatcher is a little faster, but on some instructions Cyberpatcher wins. Oxypatcher can handle much more instructions and even gives a little speedup to 040.
-
@whiteb
the differences between OP and CP are thin (speed wise) although OxyPatcher is better for rendering time.
-
I thought I would answer his question since I thought maybe the language barrier was the reason for the question sounding a little impolite. But not to even post to say thank you: that's just rude

hey guys!if that means for me sorry!!ok!and thanks for help!before 10 minutes i can see the message!

tested both, they are the same... no speed improvement using oxypatcher... maybe 0.03% more framerate, but this is not considered as an improvement... lol
stick to cyberpatcher which is free :-D

Hi,
Just in case anyone is interested:
There is a difference betweene CyberPatcher and OxyPatcher.
And there is also another tool, part of MMULib (aminet) called MuRedox, which is free, works in a way of OxyPatcher, but requires MMULib installed.
OxyPatcher is more sophisticated - it recognizes missing instructions by OPCODES, then generates a stub for the required arguments (most often - CPU registers).
This way it is able to patch any OPCODE it can recognize, but generating of the stub (once, when the instruction is executed for the first time) may be slower - but this is really not a big drawback.
CyberPatcher is simpler - it recognizes complete bit-templates, OPCODE together with arguments. Author decided which are most oftenly used and hardcoded them in the program. So the recognition and patching is faster, but if you meet that one opcode that could be patched, but uses argument (CPU register) that was not judged to be used frequent enough by the author of CyberPatcher, it will be left untouched, degrading the system performance forever.
Good example for that - Duke Nukem 3D Amiga free port. Even with running CyberPatcher, it keeps emulating those few instructions.... (Easy to be verified with tools included in MMULib package).
Cheers
PiR

interesting... so duke nukem3d runs better with oxypatcher? I'll test it...
-
also the cyberpatcher i put my startup sequence?
and what is the oxyron ports? :-?
-
I got the impression that Cyber and Oxy patcher are obsolete with OS3.9?

Your impression is a wrong one.

>>I got the impression that Cyber and Oxy patcher are obsolete with OS3.9?
From where?
(well, Piru is a fast creature, faster than me ) :devildance:
-
OK, then it's just me :-D
-
Oxypatcher is best for scene demos. All the good recent demos which I watch on 68060, suck if they are ran without Oxypatcher, but run very smooth with it and are much more enjoyeable.

put cyberpatcher in the wbstartup directory.
-
with Cyberpatcher I got a 10% speed improvment using Lightwave 3D redering the same scean one without it and one with. I dont have Oxypatcher but I should get it.
