please help!!on war3d ppctask shows ramlib error,ppc task error!i have install new os3.9 with ward3d latest and warpos
and i put on ppc 603e the bvppc vga card.i change the rasolution in 8bit 15bit and 24bit to test gearsppc test tool.
the same message: ramlib error....ppc task error!what is mean this message?i have problem with ppc cpu?the memory speed on ppc menu is 70ns.i try and 60ns.the same!!help me please!!! :cry: :cry: :boohoo: :boohoo:

This is a well-known bug in W3D: it breaks programming guidelines and opens disk-based sub-libraries in the library inticode, thus overflowing ramlib stack. This bug was reported repeatedly but it was never fixed.
Install MCPRamlibPatch or other patch to raise ramlib stacksize and the problem will be worked around.
MCPRamlibPatch can be found from MCP132b12.lha (http://www.aliendesign-gbr.de/files/MCP132b12.lha), MCP/Tools/MCPRamlibPatch.
Or install MMULib/Fixes/RamLibFix from MMULib.lha (http://www.aminet.net/util/libs/MMULib.lha).

with this two patch we solved this problem?sure?the warp3d tools gears ppc and other progs like demos w3d ppc dosent work from begining to buy the amiga ppc accelerator! :getmad: :getmad:

Either one of these patches fix the ramlib crash problem when loading W3D.

I have a similar problem.
My setup is a blizzardppc 603e+/200 060/50, bvision, z4, tocatta, etc
I have a clean install of 3.9 bb2, last w3d and warpos.
The problem is with warp3d stuff like planet potion. It runs only a few seconds and then freezes without a error message.
Any idea?
I touched all the warpos env-vars, tryed different memory velocity, etc...
Its a rev0 is that a problem?

look the memory speed on ppc configuration menu if you setting is 60ns then do 70ns and try again.
my problem is when runs warp3d progs or demos.i try to install one of the patches mcp13..lha.setting of angel tools of mmu
tryiningto run demoskope runs onces.then after that dont runs again i dont know whats happens!help???? :getmad: :getmad:

My system only boot if I have the ram speed at 70ns.
I tryed that suggested tools without good luck.
I discovered that I can run gears 68k in a window and its stable. The ppc version crashes the system in a few seconds.
I have installed the software versions of powerup.amigaworld.de

1 Make sure you have the correct Warp3d files installed (download from this (http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=14) site for the BVision).
2 Make sure you have the correct CGX drivers and configuration (download from ame website)
3 Try all the different "gears" programs (68k, ppc, small, window, full-screen) - do any of them work?
4 Try running it in 16-bit (not 15-bit, 8-bit or 24-bit) mode - this SEEMS to be the most compatible with Warp3d in my limited experience.
I just have: OS3.9 bb2, CGX v4, CyberGL, Warp3d and mine works fine (in 16-bit 1024*768 screenmode).

I have all the soft of that web installed.
Its not my first ppc, but thats a new one and I never had problems with a ppc :(

Warp3d was written by Hyperion (iirc), whereas the Blizzard PPC accelerator was produced by Phase5/dce (depending on version).
Phase 5 also commissioned the PowerUP OS supplement (ppc.library), and integrated cybergraphics RTG system into their firmware, which allows the Bvision to run "out of the box".
Chances are you are running WarpUP (written by Sam Jordan) adopted by H&P which runs at the exclusion of PowerUP, and possibly using the BPPCfix written by Harry Sintonen.
Confused? Imagine how your confused your amiga is.
The fact that this tangle of patches, mutually exclusive OS patches, RTG systems and re-written and backward engineered drivers runs AT ALL is some minor miracle imho.
So no, Warp3d doesn't "just run" - it takes a bit of tweaking. :-D

The suggested tools only fix the ramlib crash, nothing else. They do not fix any configuration errors or other bugs.

hmmmm!i have all the latest progs warp3d warpos cgfx.i dont try to set the 16bit resolution.but this problem i dont understund why the resolution of my bzvppc is only 320x480 to 800x600?and tell me if it ok this on warpos test tool voxelrace on cgfx 320x480 is 67hz?in runing!tell me is ok the speed?

Soory, have been using WhichAmiga in the last couple of days to check my PPC was working, I think your name got stuck. :-)
Frank Willie was the BPPCfix author I believe (sorry Frank :-)).
BTW - I thought WhichAmiga needed ppc.library (or ppclibemu) to be active to detect the PPC? I have BPPCfix and WarpOS installed, with no ppc.library emulation, and WhichAmiga still seems to be detecting my PPC. Did you fix this in later versions?

WhichAmiga works with both PUP and WOS.

You probably have 1024*768 available in 8-bit, but not in 15, 16, or 24-bit.
Try running Prefs/cgxmode to set up additional screen resolutions.

Erm, not sure I understand, but once you have installed CGX, selecting BVision as your graphics card there should be a BVisionPPC file shown in devs/monitors.
Once you have rebooted the BVision screenmodes should be visible in prefs/screenmodes.
Any additional resolutions you set up using prefs/cgxmode will become visible in prefs/screenmode after rebooting.

look!i dont know if my ppc 603e had problem but if it is problem why some programs runs?like warpos? like warptest warp gears68k? warp engine shows in 320x280 about 65 fps!it is ok?

try to UNselect "Memory Protection" (if selected) from WarpOS settings. (save and reboot)
Sometimes it helps with W3D programs.
Then try also to run SnoopDos before to run Gears. (just to slowdown the W3D init/loading) sometimes it helps too :-)

Gears 68k only uses the 680x0 processor, and just tests your warp3d configuration.
Please run the following tests:
Gears 68K - runs on 680x0:
Does it run full screen?
Does it run in a window?
Gears PPC - runs on 603e PPC processor:
Does it run full screen?
Does it run in a window?

gears 68k works fine but slow.
gears 68k window dont run .
gearsppc white screen or exception page ppc task error.
gearsppc window. the same.
glsokoban the same.
engine works fine with good fps.
when he calls ppc task is the problem.then exception page.

I discovered that my problem is not with W3d.
I have problems with all the warpos things that uses the bvision (in 2d, or in 3d)
The warp3d demos in aga runs fine, but in the graphic card crashes.
MynCgx4prefs are
Supergels 1
HiresCRSR 1
usesemaphores 1
All the other vars to 0
My Warpos prefs are:
memory protection 0
no ppc 0
early term 0
Terminator 2
Hide warning 1
no patch 0
Always use videoadress
Hex:E0000000
No debugging
Segment info 1
Im using the original bppcfix but I tyed too blizzckik with the bppcfix without luck.
I obtained a few seconds more of w3d run using stackattack.
Anyone can see something wrong ?

in my voxelspace in full screen 320x240 8bit gives about 68-70 hz.:)on me work engine, gears68k,and warptest.i push my ppc on 266mhz and 68040 in 30 mhz.i put ram in 50-60ns.and the config menu on ppc is 60ns the ram. :rtfm:

OK, but have you got the latest libraries installed for both 68k CPU, PPC CPU and CyberGraphX?
IIRC latest 68k libraries are 46.5 and 46.7, WarpUP libraries v5.1, and latest update of CGX v4 is 43.4_rc6 IIRC.

It most likely doesn't help posting memory settings here, since neither are using the same ram modules.
I have mine set to 60 ns, and my 256 MB ram doesn't complain :-)

hmm!me too!also!the 2 memory 2x128mb in 60ns the 1200 crashes!
in 70ns worked fine!tell me if you know doctorq:the free config is better?or kneeds some settings? :rtfm:

Dunno, 60 ns has always worked for me. If your memory modules are rated at 60 ns and the computer crashes, I would think there is a problem with the memory modules, or the memory controllers on the accelerator.
By the way, your overclocking of the board can also be the reason since the timing of the board has been altered.

I had this problem in time.
It was due to a bad install of 3.9 BBx and warp version...
A friend of mine send me a backup of his install, and all works.
Now this install works well with GREX+Voodoo 3-3000 and GREX+Permedia2 and BVision too.

I have 2x128 mb simms that I bougth at amigakit. Amigakit says that simms are at 60 ns but it doesnt have any inscription about velocity and if I put it to 60 doesnt boot.
Ahh, I tryed some diferent ppc flash that i fount in grex.amigaworld.de but seems thats especifically for grex and the bvision doesn't work with it. Only works fine with the version on powerup.amigaworld.de

Strange, very strange. My 2 BPPC worked with before and after got updated to rev2 by DCE.
How large is your stack ?
Did you install IDEFIX ?

Now I go to make a exam (SHIT!) when I return to home I will test another time the grex flashes and I check my system with a antivirus program.

You're supplying power to the Amiga through the floppy connector alone? This is not enough.
First the floppy connector doesn't have -12V (so sound and serial port won't work) and also sufficient power cannot be forced down the PCB tracks.
You must also power the Amiga through the square power connector at the same time (using the same ATX PSU - you can splice an old Amiga PSU connector to the cables). Also power the fan on the BPPC directly from the PSU so it's not drawing power from the motherboard.
Otherwise your system could be very unstable and may not even work at all.

Yes all of that is right.
But 4.7v is too low ! Change your PSU for a better one that can give you more than 4.86v for +5v in "charge".

I bought a server power supply and a atx2at adaptor.
Now it runs like a charm :)
