Title: Yam and hotmail using hotwayd
Post by: HellCoder on July 03, 2006, 07:57:24 AM
Hi,
I'm currently trying to setup my new computer room and want to check my email again on my Amiga. I've found a thread on Amiga.org that talks about hotmail and hotwayd so I could check my email.

Apparently you need to setup something in Miami (InetD, pop3) and configure yam and install hotwayd.

I've done all that and I think did it properly too.
Unfortionately it doesn't wooooork.

I get the message that my password / login name doesn't match, while I'm 100% certain about my password being correct and stuff. And I also think hotwayd is working since the receive mail steps get beyond the 'awaiting welcome message message'

Anyone knows what could be the problem ?

For those wondering what the problem is, or have the same problem, the hotwayd version on Aminet isn't the latest one. This version removes the ....@hotmail.com from your login name. Hotmail used to accept this, but not anymore.

So download the latest version (I found 0.8 on the web)
