Hi Daniele,
This is how i installed OS3.9 on multiple migs
I first installed a CD-ROM on wb3.1 > then made a rescue disk with the install menu from os3.9 > booted with the rescue disk * > then install os3.9 from install menu.
* At this point you have the new file system from os3.9 because it loads os at bootup from the cd. So there be no prob with (-123 MB on DH0:)
Hope this works for you

the problems are:
1) I got an IDE HD of 60 GB
2) Blizzard 1230 8 Megs of ram
3) Idefix Express
and the HDToolbox give me few Megas of DH0: and -121 ..
on HD1: and the installation pretend to boot from DH0:
So after the installation I have two Folders one is Workbench that is OS 3.1 and the other one is Work:
that contains the OS3.9 but are just icons and they
do not work bcoz it booted from DH0:
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I assume you have the 3.1 roms fitted? Otherwise OS3.9 will not boot.
Here's how to get OS3.9 booting on your system:
1 Run tools:hdtoolbox
2 Go to "Partition drive".
You are now looking at the aprtitions on your hard drive.
3 Click on dh1:
4 There is a box (at the bottom, near the middle) with "make partiton bootable" next to it. Tick the box.
5 On the same screen set the boot priority to 2.
6 Save and exit.
7 Reboot.
PS - welcome to Amiga.org :-)

Play around with the slider that determines size of a partition, until your boot partition shows around 250 MB. It's a known problem that HDToolBox doesn't read the drives geometry correctly.
After formatting the partition, follow the steps A1200Power lined up for you.

That what I would do.
1. create DH0: partions with 100MB (i.e) ignore all the other partion.
2. install OS3.9 from emercency disk
3. after installation go to HDToolbox and do the other partition.

Oke Daniele,
YOu have got now the same problem i had before i figured out how to fix it.
Follow these steps and it works for sure.
1 ) Create a small partition with os3.1 e.g. 100mb.
2 ) Prep and format it, also make sure it is bootable.
3 ) Install os3.1 on that partition.
4 ) Now you can install IDEFIX on os3.1
5 ) After reboot you should be able to use the CDROM.
6 ) Use os3.9 Install and create a STARTUP DISK.
7 ) WHEN ASKED "copy your IDEFIX drivers with them"
8 ) Boot with disk and format the 100mb partition.
8 ) Install os3.9 but NOTE !! DON'T let it copy IDEFIX or you get trouble.
9 ) After the installation of os3.9 DO NOT REBOOT.
10 ) Click on the install os3.9 YES AGAIN. And click INSTALL CDROM drivers.
11) REBOOT.
12) Again make a STARTUP DISK and "COPY THE CDROM DRIVERS" to it. (the menu will do it for you)
13) With this startup disk you have the new file system, cdrom file system from os 3.9 instead of IDEFIX, there is also hd-toolbox on it.
14) If you boot with it you can prep the harddisk like any other drive and use it's full capacity.
15) Then install os3.9 and you're there.
Hope this will work and if you have any probs you can mail me at hvelthoven@hotmail.com or add me to messenger.
