Title: Upgrading Mtec 68020i to 68030

Hi,

I just got an Mtec 68020i + 4mb from ebay. Since i have some 68030 low speed cpu's laying around here i started wondering. Would it be possible to upgrade the 020 to the 030 ? (they are quite the same even with voltage)

AFAIK the 020 and 030 have a completely different pin layout.

Wow thanks for the fast reply,

I will not temper with then and leave it to itself. Would a faster 020 be an option?

not possible at all due to layout..

Faster 020 is possible but too much work for gaining little

The CPU is controlled by the motherboard and there's not made room for an external clock thoug with some work, investigation and hardhacking it should be possible to add external clock though as said before, it's too much work for the little gain you get.
