Is there a way of making workbench 3.1 look like 1.3.
-
To a limited degree, it is certainly possible. The first thing to do is set the workbench to 4 colours, and set it up with the original blue/white/black/orange colourscheme.
Next, install birdie and visualprefs. Set up birdie to give you white/blue striped titlebars, and set up visualprefs to remove the 3d borders of windows (set all the window border lines to white), set the screen title bar to blue text on white, with no black line.
Next, change all the gadgets to images from a WB1.3 screengrab.
With enough work, you'll get a pretty accurate WB1.3 lookalike, although you'll still have KS2.0+ style depth gadgets.

Also, it would help if you could get the original topaz.font in bitmap form (i think i used to have it as topaz13.font, but i don't seem to have it any more :( ), and set all the text to that.

Just asking, but why? :-D
:-P

I have always prefered the workbench 1.3 1.4 look to any of the others.

How do you get and install the gadget images from a wb1.3 screengrab

Yeah right, pull the other one! :-P :-D

actually i kinda agree... For low res, the default look of 1.3 looked better than the default for 2.x-3.1

Seriously? It's a bit of nostalgia, but I definitely prefer the psudeo-3D look of OS2+. IMO it looks more professional (I'd be very embarrased to use a computer for everyday stuff that looked like 1.x :-) )

Just booted UAE on my A1. Wow the 1.3 look took me back!
:-)

I have already been told how to make my workbench look more like 1.3 but I nedd to have the files to do it.
