Title: Amiga Graphics board OR PCI VGA + Mediator?
Post by: clemenza on June 25, 2006, 12:26:36 PM
What is the best solution for resolution, speed & compatibility with applications/games? A bvision or a voodoo 3/4/5 + mediator?

Voodoo + Mediator will be faster with higher resolutions. As for compatiblity they are the same. Both BVision and Voodoo don't display AGA or ECS/OCS screens and they don't have a passthrough for these displays either.

Although if you have a BPPC, you will have definate native compatibility with both OS4 and MOS. Mediator 1200 will definately not be supported in MOS, at least.

It's an excellent demo, which require a 060+PPC+AHI+Permedia2.
It might run also with GREX + a cheap Permedia2 Pci video card.
For the EXEC :

Well, I don't think it needs 060... and did it even need AHI or did it use Paula directly... anyway it needs bppc and permedia2 :)

There's some screenshots too: http://ada.untergrund.net/showdemo.php?demoid=169

It's incredible 64k intro. It's just massive amount of stuff in only 64 kilobytes. Three great trance audio tracks and speech synthesis and lots of effects :) Blew everyone from their chairs when it was shown at the competition back then. One of the greatest moments of Amiga's newschool demoscene history :) Beated PC intros of that time, even if you don't know the cpu power differences!
