Title: What is an IPF file?

I had to replace a couple diskettes that had water damage.
My friend sent me 2 lha files with IPF extensions.

I believe he got them out of that Tosec compilation.

Are they the same as ADF?

Appreciate any help

someone will probably explain it better, but CAPS is an attempt to 'preserve' original Amiga games, together with copy protection etc..
people probably got fed up with warez .adfs with demos, and wanted 100% originals. the catch is you cannot replicate many copy protections because they are ... er.. protected.
so your IPFs will maybe work in UAE but if they are protected you probably cant write them to original diskettes

Thats fine , thanks for explaining.
So main tosec was with cracks ect , and they make their own type of tosec collection with all the protection.

Is there any way to mount (http://it.aminet.net/disk/misc/diskimage.readme) an IPF image to WB, or to copy an IPF image to a floppy?

Cass: AFAIK, it depends on type of protection, if its just 'enter number on page:' it should be very similar to .adf
but if its some tougher, you could only use it in UAE with plugin. I think I've heard somewhere that people had some success with WHDLoad+IPF..

it would be really nice if there was some cheap way to write them onto real floppys so that we could restore our fading originals.

IIRC, even with those tough copy protections, usualy its not in the whole diskette, so you might overwrite the part of your original game that is not readable (assuming there is no physical damage)
