Post by: mrbill317 on June 21, 2006, 08:36:12 PM
Does the amiga have an emulator for Apple II stuff?
I love those older games (text adventures ect) and
have no problem playing them on a pc.

And does the Amiga emulate or can emulate a c64 well?

Thanks alot guys

Well, you can emulate a Mac with up till OS8 IIRC, so it should be enough to get you going.

And yes, the Amiga can emulate C64 as well. Usually you need a pretty powerful accelerator though.

I don't know about the Apple II, but certainly the 68k Apple Macs with Fusion and Shapeshifter.

The C64 is also fairly well emulated with Frodo and Magic64.

If you like those old text adventures you may be able to play them on the Amiga anyway. Level 9 did their version of Colossal Cavern and there was the Silicon Dreams trilogy and many other games. There's also an IF (interactive Fiction) archive with cross platform data, and the Amiga has a player for these - Aminet, I reckon.

I've definitely seen some Apple II emulators on Aminet.

Several can be found here (http://main.aminet.net/search.php?query=apple+emu), but some of the older ones may only run on the earlier unexpanded Amigas.

P.S. It wasn't a stupid question!
