Title: A1200 Keyboard Problems
Post by: pan1k on June 19, 2006, 10:14:28 PM
I just finished installing WB3.1 and I installed Final Copy II so I could test the keyboard. Whenever I type, most of the keys don't work, but when I hit the "L" key it produces £. Spacebar and Return work fine. Any ideas, could a key be stuck down? Thanks!

I think you get £ from the L key if you hold Ctrl or Alt, can't remember, hang on...

Yep, it's Alt-L, that produces £, also Alt-A gives me æ, Alt-S gives me either ß or β, Alt-D gives me δ, and there's a variety of other letters and symbols accesed via this method.

I don't know why your keyboard would default to producing the `Alt-` versions of the key-presses.

Hi,

This could be either

A loose keyboard connection.

Or

perhaps a Locale setting that's wrong.

Also, have a look at Keyshow in Tools for the keypresses.

Kind Regards, Michael

Are you sure the key is not physically held down? I had this once with my Escape key, and Alt is also in a corner. Try giving it a good old massage, you never know.   :)
