Hey guys, I finally picked up an A1200 at a garage sale this weekend. $50USD for an A1200, Mouse, about 100 games and a few applications. My problem is that I would like to add a harddrive to it, it came from the factory without one, seal still intact on the bottom. I have a few PC laptop drives ranging from 4-6GB, will that work? I am trying to get an accellerator now, but eventually I want to tower it.
Thanks!

yup, laptop drives will fit inside, especially if you have the proper cradle in there. You will need a short 44 pin cable as well. Max 4Gb for ordinary A1200.
Good luck :-)

You can use all sorts of bigger capacity drives by using patches, and when you tower it you will be able to use 3.5" drives as well, either with an adapter cable, or by using a four way IDE splitter (with IDEfix software) so you can have 4 drives. Be aware that using large drives without the patches will cause loads of problems.

OK. I'm not in a rush now. I've seen those adaptors for sale in some Amiga shops, but i'm waiting for a tower. I just want to get started and install workbench and a few games and apps. I have workbench 3.0 for now, but I will save up for 3.1 ROMS and OS 3.9!
