Post by: neuroflip on June 16, 2006, 03:04:10 PM
i read at http://www.g-mb.de/pcmcia_e.html that only NetGear MA401 and MA311 are suposed that are fully functionaly at amiga systems....

Can i use another 16 bits PCMICIA card or only Prism Chipset is supported?  :-?

Read the documentation which comes with the Prism2 driver (http://aminet.net/package.php?package=hard/drivr/prism2.lha).

I see that orinoco silver is supported by the prism2 device.

Anyone have an opinion about this pcmcia card? i have located one... how much would you pay for that?

I paid little less than 30eur for a card with orinoco chipset (2wire). It works fine. Make sure its 16bit, 5 Volts.
OTOH wired LAN card has its advantages over WiFi..

It sure is cheaper, and maybe a bit faster.
I don't know, somehow UTP cable seems more reliable to me, no interference, noise.. etc.
IMHO, wifi is best suited for laptops because of portability.

Sorry i don't want to be a little repetitive but.... what about this?

ZyAir B-120 (http://www.zyxel.hu/products.php?cid=20&id=107)... prism2 guide not talk about this card, but googling i have read that it's fully compatible with prism2 drivers...  :-?

can be?

It is very likely that a lot more cards could be compatible with prism2 drivers. If you happen to find a working card not mentioned in the driver doc, don't forget to contact the great Neil Cafferkey to update the doc.

I use an Orinoco with an A1200 and it's rock solid!
