I have at least a desk drawer full of them (from every US Amiga Magazine). Most are Amiga World but there are some Amazing Amiga and others (forget the titles at the moment).
If you want them, you are welcome to them but shipping may cost a bit.

Hi,
Nice stack of magazines!
Does anyone know if the likes of Future Publishing, etc, kept their original (presumably Postscript) layout files of all the old issues of Amiga Format, etc?
Has anyone ever attempted to contact these companies and ask if they have any plans to release them? It'd be great if they did, much like current PC magazines where they release a year or two's worth of PDFs of the back-issues...

I have one old copy of 'amiga trouble shooter' somewhere. Had it for ages thought it was to the Atari ST at first. I didnt know much about computing about 11 yrs ago when i was somthing like 8. :-)

Hi Ltstanfo,
Thanks for the response - I'm actually interested in a particular issue of Amiga Computing: May 1991, issue 36. If you have or know someone who has, I'd be glad to buy.
Thanks much!
Libby :-)

I have that issue but I'm sorry I can't sell it. If you need a particular article, from the issue, I may be able to scan it. Let me know.

Gosh, that takes me back a few years!
I believe I owned that issue - may I ask what software was included on the cover disk? Furthermore, what is the 'easy to use Workbench replacement', surely not Scalos?
Take care,
James

Coverdisk software was MED v3.00 and a game called Amiga-Tanx (link to details of game http://hol.abime.net/5409 )
Also a graphics ripper and a program for designing garden layouts.
The workbench replacement was something called WorkStation. This was a program based on a shareware package called SID. If I remember correctly; this was an early version of DOpus.

SID was like DOpus in function, but not an early version of DOpus itself. That came from a different stable - in fact Directory Opus was called something else before IIRC, but the name escapes me. SID was followed by SID II, which was a commercial product.
Were you after those programs? I do have that copy of Amiga Computing somewhere, but I'm not certain about the coverdisk. Even if I do have it, the chances that it would still work are pretty small.
I should add that the WorkStation was just SID plus some additional freeware utilities, with SID being configured to access them directly. At least I think that's what it was.

davros and all who responded,
Thanks also for the offer for a copy of article - much appreciated.
I'll keep looking to buy the issue - I am looking for the cover disk with it, to make it more difficult.
Thanks (or should I say Tankx?) again!
Cheers,
libby :-)

I've thought about it. I don't know how it is in the UK or downunder, but here in the states I think you'd have a hard time finding those publishers. Except for Amigaworld (CW Communications) , they all seemed to have vanished off the face of the Earth. :-/
Every now and then, I consider bringing them to the surface by releasing the 13.7 GB of scanned images on my HD... that will turn them up... or at least their lawyers. :-)

Tanx was great fun, I particularly liked the speech when blowing yourself up - something like 'Oh, we cam't be too happy about that one...' ;)
