I`ve installed a HD floppy (taken from an A4000) to my A500+.
The last time I tried to boot the KCS floppy instead of the mem check & bios MSDOS prompt, it showed a black screen with green fonts, the status line below (time etc.) and a strange message:
PLEASE PUT THE SWITCH ON THE KCS HD_DRIVE IN THE MIDDLE POSITION AND RESTART
I tried to disable floppies from the PC-Preferences program, but the screen came up with the same message.
Does anybody here know what it means, or how can I see the MS-Dos prompt?

Hi,
Would the KCS board and/or controlling software know about HD floppy drives or HD floppies? My old board predates the use of HD drives in Amigas by a good couple of years!
I guess you have a more recent board, judging by the cryptic message you received...
Can you boot to an MS-DOS prompt with it using 720Kb DD disks?

Unfortunately no, I get this screen message.
I`ve found the old original disk, which boots nicely to the well-known bios ram-test & MSDOS prompt. I`ve used an online version diskimage of the KSC software, dumped to a floppy.
It`s been a long time since I had to boot to MSDOS, and it was probably a newer version than the one I got with the board.
