have to say it doesnt look all that different other than icon changes. am i right in saying i can get better backgrounds and stuff now?
1- download theme files?
2- is there a command which tells you the version of your current OS?
-
yes just type to a shell ''version'' :-)
even better from menu select ''workbench/about''
enjoy your new os :pint:

see how that guy is running 3.1 yet he has those types of icons. how an earth? surely it is possible for me to have a nice contemporary looking WB too..?
-
these icons are from the newicons set, an older type of icons than glow icons that came with wb3,5. personaly i prefere the later. just download and test some of this stuff aminet (http://aminet.net/search.php?query=newicons&sort=name&start=50)

in general, set your workbench to 256 colors and use fblit with of loads of ram to have a nice wb. follow this guide:
