Title: Something for Mac emulator users
Post by: Matt_H on May 31, 2006, 06:03:37 PM
Some browsing at the Mozilla homepage pointed me to a web browser called iCab, which is supposedly the only browser still in development for MacOS 9. Not only that, but they still have recent releases for MacOS 7 built for 68K.

I can't get networking functioning under ShapeShifter and both Fusion and Basilisk crash on me, but maybe someone here can try it out. They say it only has limited CSS support, but it's probably better than Netscape 4 or the Amiga browsers.

I already use it with ShapeShifter. Works fine but it's slower than native Amiga browsers. It does have a bit better support for more modern sites but that's it...

Oh well. Not quite the stopgap measure I'd hoped for. Better than nothing, I suppose.

At least the author still updates the program; so maybe it gets (even) better.

For me an update to IBrowse is more welcome though!

Is there a ping utility in MacOS 8.0? I'm trying to get networking working in ShapeShifter but it's not working very well, and it's hard to troubleshoot when you can't ping anything!
