I have just managed to find an early version of the kickstart 1.4 image and was wondering if it would work on a blizzard 1230 accelerator card
-
Don't think it'll work with any other Amiga than the A3000. :-?
As far as I know the 1.4 Rom was only released to the A3000. As I've been told it was there to load the kickstart 2.0 of the harddrive of an A3000 since the kickstart was... well... not done when the A3000 was sold? Anyway it does just that with my A3000 even though it's an kickstart3.1 image on my HD. ;-)

I think Brain is correct, as it was designed to run in on a 3000 and only an late alpha / early beta.
Offcourse, no reason not to try and relokick it, but don't expect your OS2+ partitions to work as they should.. Maybe WB1.3 will boot correctly on it
Some interesting links;
Workbench 1.4 (http://www.gregdonner.org/workbench/wb_b14.html)
Apollo (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/apollo4040.html)
A3000 (http://amiga.resource.cx/mod/a3000.html)
A-OS (http://www.workbench.f9.co.uk/os.htm)
I seem to recall I had a 1.4 rom image some time ago and tried that with WinUAE, but I don't believe it worked. Don't know if I still have it... Guess if it didn't work I considerd it fake and deleted it then.

It is fully functional on my winuae.

Well, maybe the one I used was fake, or maybe the emulator to old to work with it back then, who knows..
Are you sure it's an 1.4 image ? Not just an 1.3 image wich had it's version number changed ? There's a 3.5 rom image around there to, which is just a 3.0 or 3.1 rom with a hacked version number.

It is definetly real I have seen the screenshots on the workbeng nostalgia site.

You could run 1.4 on a 1000, I probably still have the kickstart disk. There may have been an image trick to get it into a 500 or 2000. The original A3000's had 1.4 on them. Even now you can get a 1.4 screen on those computers by selecting correctly on the boot menu. For those who don't know, 1.4 was abandoned/superceded whatever you want to call it because it broke too many things. 2.0 broke fewer thinks and had lots of patches to get around badly programmed software.

At the moment I am trying to get blizkick to boot off kickstart 1.4 but the power light is dimmed but it does not crash.
