Title: Dual boot on the amiga one???
Post by: spihunter on November 12, 2002, 04:15:59 AM
Will I be able to dual boot OS4 with PPClinux?
I'm not buying a A1 unless I know the answer to this.

Sorry for this post, but if I'm going to shell out the cash for this system I would love to be able to run MOL on it as well as OS4.

I think a 3 OS system like this would bring some life into the desktop PPC market.

@spihunter

Great question. For that matter, what's the story with the Pegasos in terms of Linux/MorphOS dual booting?

I not sure about those guys, but it seems like thier really on top of things.

If I had to guess I would say that they allready had that running.

Dual booting with Linux and OS4 shouldn't be a problem.  At least that's the beef from the latest interview from ExtremeTech with Bill M. (http://amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43567)

Of course you will, the Teron boards have been running Linux ever since they were first designed.

Or are you saying there could be issues with a bootloader like yaboot being unable to pull up AmigaOS? Hm. I'd expect that to be solved, since also the "AmigaOne-ified" Terons distributed by Eyetech are bundled with a Linux distro.

Yes, I know the boards will run both OS's. I was just wondering if an exsiting bootloader would be able
to launch OS4.
