I am trying to get WHDLOAD to work with AGA Theme Park (the disks i got installed fine but when i click on research there comes up a SOFTWARE PROBLEM!!!) so, i am to use another verison - the WHDLOAD one (installed via a different THEMEPARK)
anyway. it first said unable to located kick40068.a4000 so, i copied (into DEVS:kickstarts) something like A40003.1.rom and renamed it "kick40068.a4000". loaded up again, now it wants "kick40068.a4000.rtb" - so, it seems as though you need TWO files. what is this RTB file!?
thanks

Read the docs (http://www.whdload.de/games/ThemePark.html) for the Thema Park AGA WHDLoad Install, it will tell you where to get the RTB file.
-
guys, this is a little scary. i am testing some WHDLOAD games. they work fine. then a few mins through they just FREEZE. i can quite to WB. but the games freezes!?
help, please
-
i hope it isnt my Acc card. if it is i am going to be pretty annoyed!
EDIT: Also, i am using WHDLOAD 16.1!!!!!

but why not? every game it's just as every other buggy program.
-
yeah. so this happens to you guys?
i mean, i restarted - closed everything so i had as much mem as possible and then the game runs fine. just happens from time to time i suppose.
right?

This problem is a well known one . . .
If you use Miami, just close this program prior to run any WHDLoad game.
It's a imcompatability between WHDLoad and the TCP/IP stack.
I know for sure that Miami causes this, but not as sure about other stacks. But probably they cause the same behaviour.
Regards,
Marcelo.

WHDLoad is rock solid. It sounds like you're running a TCP/IP stack. This can cause freezing like you describe. Other possibilities are using the wrong disks for the particular installation (ie. pirate copies, unsupported versions, etc.).
-
think that makes sense. i think i was running my network when i was running the game (TCP/IP stack). FTPMount
-
I too had freeze error's i could not explain, until i realised, I still had Miami/Amiga Explorer running still while loading the games after transferring off of the Network from PC.
Works a treat here.., but my 4000 has no network card so I have to use 1.44MB floppies..

yup. things are working well now. good stuff!
i would not mind registering so that scroll screen doesnt come up. you guys registered?
-
you guys registered?
Absolutely. Don't even give it a second though - just register. Worth every penny.
-
i agree. WHDLoad has to be one of the greatest pieces of software made - and thats not even being anti-serious.
few questions though:
1 - you guys use the latest model? because i use 16.1, is it good enought?
2 - you get a key when you register right? where do you insert this (when using your amiga)?
-
yes, register it ! I have regged years ago and is really worth it!!! Download latest version yes :) You get instructions when ordered....

It has a search order, but s: or L: is usually sufficient.
You get an archive (LHA) with a few differing file names
Whdload.key
whdload.key.bak
whdload.key.bak.bak
I use 16.5

Another good reason to register is that some games wont work without registering. I had versions of Moonstone and Sensible Golf that did this.
The WHDLoad Keyfile is the best piece of software I have ever purchased on my Amiga

The freeze problems caused by tcp/ip stacker (ethernet pcmcia cards) or USB stacker. Also many problems caused to 68030 amigas with MMU enabled. Read the whdload guide for all this problems.

okay i have a new problem now :(
on theme park aga i save the game. everything is fine. def' saved. i restart. come back on today to find that there is no way to reload the game.... any ideas?
thing is: in DATA/SAVE for that folder my file IS there :S
EDIT: hmm, i think i have to pretend to make a new park and put the same name and park details in. then it allows me to open that save up. a little unorthodox but it works ;p
-
Odd. Loading a saved park works here. What version of the slave are you using?

Agree'd.
No "Shareware" nag screen, and i can load my favorite game, Dragons breath :)
Which Galahad wrote as a registered user only slave.
-
my amiga at the min is being really inconsistent and i think it has something to do with WHDLoad.
remember: i am using 16.1 UNREGISTERED at the moment
i load up Flashback and sometimes the amiga will crash - i do it another time and it WORKS!?
and when it did work, when i quit out my amiga froze completely. i dont know what the problem is at all. any help? (do i need a better whdload?)
-
Latest version is 16.5; try it. Also check if you have the latest slave files from the installations on the whdload site.
Don't use a pirate key; it will make whdload unstable (own experience).
And please don't take this the wrong way but you seem to ask a lot of questions when there are really simple steps that may lead to solution. Like installing the latest whdload version; you don't really need a forum telling you to download that when you could have done that already?
-
yeah i know but this is the thing. i needed to ask that to ask this: do you need to get rid of 16.1 or can you just install latest OVER 16.1 without needing to remove it?
-
Just install it over it; older files will be overwritten if you install it the same way you did before.
-
Regarding the freezing problem, it happens with my Genesis on OS3.9 too. It's just a case of closing it. :)
It's easy to forget and leave it running if you have it loaded on startup and it's set to hidden :)
