have you guys had this. when your LEDs start to fade.
my power seems to keeping up ok. but F Drive is pretty much dead?
experience this?
what did you do?
-
Are these the LEDs on the amiga or did you add them yourself? LEDs usualy will last forever but dammage can be caused by over curent or spikes. Your power supply may be going. LEDs are easy to relpace but finding the right size may be tough.
-
got them off eBay but when i inserted them the HDD did not light up once at all. whilst the power one works fine for the most part.
you would think they were faulty right?
(they were ORIGINAL 1200 ones too)
-
Sounds like some of the wires may be broken, or the soldering has gone bad somewhere on the circuit.
-
thats what i was thinking. it may be the soldering. however, i was asking my friend who thinks that it is the LEDs themselves (yet i hear they should last for ever) so what is it more likely to be?
-
I would still be guessing on soldering or the wires. I have had the same problems with two LED boards, that worked again after resoldering the connectors and wires.
-
think i will try resoldering then and see what happens.
i could get some arbitrary LEDs from Maplins .... ^?^
