Title: PCMCIA - USB
Post by: magistral on May 17, 2006, 03:44:37 AM
Hi,

Anyone ever try to connect a PCMCIA card with USB connections in A1200, like this one: http://www.elemar.com.uy/ecommerce/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/2486

It's a CardBus device. That won't work in the Amiga's ancient PCMCIA ports. Even if it were a 16-bit card you'd still the problem of having to make your own software to drive the card.

Just have to do a bit of digging to make sure they are 16-bit cards, not the 32-bit cardbus type cards.  Plus you need to make sure that they are supported by the available drivers.

There's a list somewhere of pcmcia lan cards supported by the 3c589 device driver.  There's a good chance your 3com one will work.
