Title: Thinking of a Apple II Compute type in game.. Heatseeker?
Post by: redrumloa on May 14, 2006, 05:10:28 PM
Back in the (really old) day I had a buddy with an Apple II. He got one of the Compute compilation books with all the Apple II type in games. We sat for hour after hour, day after day until that game was typed in completely. The game in question was actually very addictive with great control! You were a plane of some sort with missles coming at you. IIRC the missles were heatseekers so they followed your movements to a point. IIRC the game was also called Heatseeker, or something similar.

Anyone remember this? I may want to track this (noncommercial) game down to play under emulation...

I remember the game, but not the name. Those Compute games had this awesome, old game, called Moonbase fallout, where you had to aim nukes towards the enemy base. The closer you got, the more people you killed.  Great little game, back in the day.

Wish I was more help. Then again, I wouldn't mind finding some of those old apple games to play. Coding Apple Basic was fun, in the day.

Are you looking to type the code in again?
