Hello
There is a future trend of Utility computers: user can increase the CPU power by attaching their computer to remote "processor farms (millions of CPU).
Using DE remote asymmetric multiprocessing capability, perhaps it is possible to create "Utility Computing" service company based on cluster of Amiga PPC 970 super servers with millions of CPU.
Using DE + utility computing, even the slowest PDA / Cell phone can handle serious applications such as Simulation, Raytracing / animation, Engineering Design, re-compiling applications etc.
Is the above idea possible? Is it better to use Opteron or other CPU?

Hello
There are 2 methods of providing massive CPU power for Utility Computing:
1. Concentrated CPU centres. In a single centre, several million CPU are available. Pro: Response time, reliability, security Cons: Cost.
2. Distributed PC / computer on vast diverse locations (ie Juno, Terragrid, SETI). Pro: Cheap, Cons: Unreliable, lack of security.

The 2nd approach need a good, secure software platform that can run on various types of machines. I hope AmigaDE can fill this role.
It is possible to use AmigaOne with the 2nd method, but the method need good, reliable computers.
Users in US / Europe (during working hours) can use the idle Computer in Asia (Evening / Night). Users in Asia (working hours) can use idle computers in US / Europe.
Can AmigaOne handle 7x24 non stop operation?
Thank's
