Title: Problems with Octagon 2008 SCSI-Controller(s)
Post by: Amiga_Oldi on May 04, 2006, 08:16:05 AM
Hi there,

my name is Michael, I´m from germany and I own two Amiga 2000.

Since I got lucky and got 2 Octagon 2008 SCSI Controllers and some harddisks and SCSI-CD-Rom on eBay I want to restart with my Amiga.

I put in both of the Octagon Controllers in one maschine and managed to get a 4.3 GB IBM Harddisk hooked up that way that, my amiga can boot from it. But the CD-Rom still refuses to work.

I tested the CD-Rom in a PC and it is working fine there.

What kind of software will I need to get the SCSI CD-Rom working ?

I got a original Commodore memory-card for the Amiga also on eBay and bought additional 8 MB of Memory-Chips to upgrade it to maximum RAM-Size.

Now it shows only 2 MB additional Memory and I can´t figure out, how to set the jumpers on the memory-card the right way.

If you need more information about the hardware, please ask and I will give you the information you may need.

Sorry my bad english and the bad grammar.

Michael

Download AmiCDFS or IDEfix 97 from Aminet for the CD software, and install it according to the docs.

As for the jumper settings, it might be worth to look up your hardware on www.amiga-hardware.com (http://www.amiga-hardware.com) and amiga.resource.cx (http://amiga.resource.cx).
