I've just created some instructing videos demonstarting how easy is the archive handling in AmiKit (http://http:/amikit.amiga.sk) environment. In case you're interested you can find them here (http://amikit.amiga.sk/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=8&topic=99).
If you want more videos just let me know what AmiKit area it should cover
EDIT: I've just created a single thread containing all the video tutorials, you can find it here (http://amikit.amiga.sk/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=8&topic=102). :-D

hey, good work. nice and easy :-)
-
Well glwxxx.
After I found out there was no scandoublers about for sale. I was thinking it was about time I gave up on the old trusty amiga, then I thought it was time I tryed out amikit. and this is where I have developed love and hate feelings towards you,
Love= because you created amikit
Hate= because you created amikit and now all my time is taken up playing with it and i dont seem to get anything done!
So great job on creating amikit and great job on creating these video tuts for other ppl! :-D
-
uh, thank you! :-) maybe I should add to licence agreement something like "...author is not responsible for any addiction you develop by using AmiKit"
-
 yeah, you might also think about including your girlfriend/wife/partner will feel neglected and shout abusive profanaties and generally {bleep} at you while you use this product!
I'm sitting thinking about what other vid tuts you could make, but I cant think of any just now but as soon as I do I'll let ya know :-D
-
or I might include some banner asking "did you say hello to your girlfriend today?". It will pop up in AmiKit from time to time :-) or "Feed your cat! Yes, again..." :-)
Ok, let me know if you get an idea what to show in next videos. Cause I do not have insight what's difficult in AmiKit for newbies, you know.
-
I think it would be an good idea that video like this are uploaded to www.archive.org (http://www.archive.org/)
-
I have almost switched over to AmiKit, form a real miggy as well!
:-D
-
As if the Amiga isn't already addictive enough, you go and create AMIKIT!!! Thanks a lot! A truly awesome work. Thanks from a dedicated user. I agree with your philosophy, too.
A side note to any who may read this; I use Amikit at work since I haven't a spare Amiga with network capabilities-when I try to run certain apps that require tcp connectivity, I get 'please insert volume inet:'
As the emulation is using bsdsocket, I don't have Genesis (or
Amitcp) installed. Can installing Amitcp or Genesis resolve this?
-
Altrough installation of AmiKit is fairly simple, maybe a video demonstrating it step by step would be nice?

I do not understand, is it your real miggy having this "insert inet:" problem or AmiKit? AmiKit doesn't need amitcp nor genesi installed, like you said, the emulation uses the connectivity of PC.

good idea :) I'll try it!

winuae use the DEFAULT.UAE or the AmiKit_v1.UAE at boot time? if i want to change the amiga setup winuae use which one i can change?
-
winuae use the DEFAULT.UAE or the AmiKit_v1.UAE at boot time?
It depends. If you start AmiKit or WinUAE GUI using the AmiKit.exe then AmiKit_v1.UAE config is loaded.
If you start plain WinUAE.exe, it should load DEFAULT.UAE config.
Anyway, both configurations are the same.
To modify the AmiKit config, mark the AmiKit_v1.UAE entry and hit LOAD. Then do the modifications and mark the entry again and press SAVE. Next time you start AmiKit (using AmiKit.exe) this config will be used automatically.

thanks, i'll try :-)

I've uploaded another video here (http://amikit.amiga.sk/forum/index.php?action=vtopic&forum=8).

well, I've created a single thread containing all the video files, it's here. (http://amikit.amiga.sk/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=8&topic=102)
