Gav, theres no need to be negative dude. If people can help they will. Amiga.org is a fount of information, and in the most  part (if not all) everyone here is as helpful as they can be.

;-) Also, remember that it's the weekend, so the list is less busy than otherwise.  It should pick up on weekdays, while some members surf at work, or weekday afternoon/evenings, while other members surf before bedtime.

I cannot help you with AmiSSL, but MiamiSSL (I think
that's its name) is easy to get working - you have to get
the codecs (says where in the manual - they cannot/could
not legally be distributed with main distribution), but then it
handles itself. The manuals are helpful as well of course.
Miami itself is shareware and the demo verision shuts down
after an hour or so. But it is definately the easiest way to
get internet flying on the Amiga in my opinion.

Unfortunately I have never used AmiSSL (and I didn't know
you could read e-mails on a Dreamcast either, so there you
go...)

AmiSSL v2 is currently only for IBrowse 2.3 (http://www.ibrowse-dev.net/) - the AmiSSL v1 and v2 APIs are incompatible, so you can only use AmiSSL v1 with AWeb, until a new version of AWeb is released which supports AmiSSL v2.

I've just installed Amissl2 and I would like to clarify things.

Here's what I've understood so far :

Amissl2 is for Ibrowse 2.3 only you can get it here :

http://amiga.iospirit.de/static/objectfiles/file/18/AmiSSL2.2.lha

It includes the cypher libraries. So you just have to install the Amissl2.lha from the script and that's all !

So with Ibrowse2.3 and Amissl2, I have been able to use Yahoo mail, but not Hotmail. Actually, I prefer Yahoo, as the mailbox is permanent. I still don't understand why hotmail disables mailboxes...

Amissl1 for Aweb can be downloaded here :

http://www.heightanxiety.com/AmiSSL/

( I have not completely tested the folowing as I intend to use Ibrowse )

The amissl1 archive does not include the cipher libraries :

First download them individually and download also the main archive.

Then unpack the main archive using lha

Start the installer script in the main archive, it will ask you in which directory you have put the cipher libraries.
