As far as I know there are no A3000 specific RAM-expansions. Add ZIP-RAMS or an accelerator card with RAM.
-
No... There are a few out there that are Z3-only RAM boards. The DKB and FastLaneZ3 are the most common. But calling either of them COMMON is quite a stretch. Usually its cheaper, easier, and faster to buy an accelerator and seat all the RAM on that.

There are also AmiFast and SIMMfonie cards. Both are A3000 specific RAM cards which convert the ZIP sockets to SIMM sockets and are most simple and easy way to add 16Mbyte FastRAM to an A3000.
If you have almost no RAM in your A3000 then I recommend one.

I have seen several cards of different types pop up on Ebay from time to time just keep your eyes open for them.

Well thats the thing, you pretty much have to saw off your extremety to obtain a Z3 memory card. Might as well get a 040 or 060 card with RAM slots on it. lol

For a DKB 3128, yeah, you'd have to sell a kidney or something to afford it. But the Fastlane is more reasonable: I picked one up for $150 from a private seller from comp.sys.amiga.marketplace newsgroup, and that included the 64MB of ram. You just have to look and put out little wanted posts out there. Another good place is www.amibench.net. Put a wanted on there and on the newsgroup, and hopefully somebody will contact you. And if you're seeing asking prices of $200+, then you really want to consider saving a few more dollars and getting a good accelerator with the memory slots on it. You won't be sorry with that option!

Remember the space restrictions in a 3000 when buying an accelerator though!
