Title: A3000 with Cyberstorm MK2 060
Post by: Robert17 on April 17, 2006, 10:38:21 PM
Hey all, I'm thinking of putting a Cyberstorm MK2 060 in an A3000 Desktop, I won't be using a scsi module with the card.
My Question is, does anyone know if it will work without the INT2 hack? Bearing in mind I will remain using the onboard scsi and not fitting a cyberstorm scsi module.

it should work fine. the int-2 line mod is only to allow scsi modes on the cpu slot. a3000ts 4000s and 4000ts have the line on the slot the 3000d is the only one that doesnt

Hi,

I'm using that combination (A3000D with CS Mk2 '060) and didn't need to perform any surgery!

Agreed.  I didn't have to do any hacks to get the Mk2 to work in my A3000.

Just make sure the MKII is not one of the bad ones that has the DMA problem, or it will not work unless you remove the RAM on the card.

Ehm, the A3000T also does not have the INT2 line; at least not all of them. It is unclear if some of them do. I have a 3000T rev 6.1 mainboard which had no INT2.

I can not say if a MK2 will work; probably will. My MK3 did work, but without disabling it's SCSI it was very unstable. Anything which opened or looked for SCSI devices would crash finding the cybppc.device. Think of HDToolBox, Quarterback etc. Adding the INT2 line fixed all problems.
