Well I tried this before but could not find the right software.
As I am reading on the net genesis should be faster so should be nice to get this thing going.
The software I need is part of the geekgadgets package?
The dhcp client says it needs the ixemul libs thats easy but also the commands sh,rm,cp,echo
Are those part of a basic install of gg????
Where can I find the gg software on aminet it's broken or incomplete as I cannot find a install.
Or is there a workaround..maybe a router which makes the adres a static one?

Well, there is no such thing as basic install. You'll need to grab the packages you need.
You'll need at least ixemul-bin, pdksh, fileutils, probably also sh-utils. Maybe some others.

That works.

Well I have setup my router now.
It works on both stacks now genesis and miamidx.
Don't make much of a speeddifference as far as I can tell.
Did read somewhere gensis is not so powerhungry.
A made up story?

Well, while optimizing cnet.device I found out that Genesis was good 33% faster than MiamiDX. This was measured with external clock and FTP transfer of a large file.
YMMV.
-
Well it certainly starts up faster then miami.
Maybe I am on my limits of downloadspeed.
Got to check my provider.
I have downloaded a 5.4 MB file from aminet and it doesn't matter if I use miami genesis ibrowse aweb all go with around 90 KB/s and with same processorload.
Or maybe it is limit aminet server?
Go to do some more test.

Uh, obviously these things only really make a difference if you reach the speeds of close to 700-800 KB/s, or so, that is in LAN.
