Title: A3000 & Cybervision64 problems
Post by: rrete on April 12, 2006, 10:32:04 AM
HI!

I'm having problems to install a CV64 (not 3d) in my A3k. With original drivers system crashses, with CGX V 3&4 too. The CV64 is working and in the early startup is listed.
I'm trying install with OS 3.0, 3.1 and 3.9 and I've the same problems. Usually when crash show a guru 80000004 other times the system only stop with no mouse movements and no keyboard respose but "ctrl+A+A" works. My system is an 68030 2mb chip + 16 mb fast and Superbuster 7 or 9
(with two fails)and X-surf I.

Somebody can help me? must I upgrade to SuperBuster 11?

Thanks RRete. :idea:

No need to upgrade your buster, I have a Cybervision64 running in my A3000T (and before in a regular 3000) both have rev 7 busters. Mine has always worked fine.
Have never used CGX though, I run Picasso 96, the version which comes with OS3.9.

i had the CV64 here too with Buster 9 but you have to set a jumper to "Slow Buster Mode". (JP1 IIRC).

Hi another!

Thanks for your solutions. I've trying changing jumper on CV64 & Picasso drivers (they come with OS 3.9) but don't work. I'm trying others solutions. I think the CV64 i'ts working well and is not the problem only software problem.

Best regards from Spain

Hi. Well, to be sure the problem is the A3k (or it's configuration) you can try it on your A4000.

@rrete,

Not to suggest bad news, but I had a similar problem with a CV64. The guru 80000004 turned out to be bus errors. I tracked it down to read/write attempts in the Cybervision's address. It would crash or freeze the 3000 w/Piccasso 96 or Cybergraphx. I finally got a 4000 and tried it in that with the same results. And this was with superbuster 11 in both 3000 and 4000. Conclusion: the card was faulty. So if you do have a 4000, or even another 3000, give it a go in that Amiga. If you get the same or similar results, it's the card. Sorry.
