Title: Floppy drives on A2000
Post by: Lockon_15 on April 11, 2006, 02:51:50 PM
I got 2 PC floppy drives (Panasonic JU-257A606) which can be modified to serve as Amiga drives. First drive is already modded and work nicely as DF0: (drive is connected to mobo connectors by flat ribbon cable).

In order to connect the other drive, I use standard PC floppy ribbon cable with 2 3.5" connectors - second one has 3-4 wires inverted. Now, I am not sure if I have to mod second drive as DF1: (DiskSelect 1 on floppy board) or to clone first drive (DiskSelect 0 on floppy board). Maybe those twisted wires on ribbon cable select drive signals so I should make 2nd drive identical to 1st one?

Any experience? Nobody?
Thnx.

Hi,
the twist trick was done by Ibm, to reduce the cost of time to configure drive as DS0 :)
So all PC drives are setted to DS1, and the twist make them visible to the controler as DS0 :), the other drive is DS1.
