Post by: BigBrother on April 10, 2006, 07:22:42 PM
Sorry if this has benn posted 13287-98790185 times or if this is in the wrong place. But If I have a mac G4 with a PowerPc chip, can I install Amiga and run it natively?

You could try to get Hyperion to make a custom-build of OS4 to run on a G4 Mac.   :rtfm:

Hi,
only indirectly you can. UAE under MACOS, or with Linux you can start immediatly UAE. This will give you an impression like an A1 start AOS4 or like a Pegasos start MOS

Sadly you cannot. This would be possible if someone ported it though, but sadly i doubt this will ever happen.

The main thing that stops this from happening, is the nazi licensing scheme of Amiga INC. They basicly demand that Apple should pay to amiga inc for enabling the Mac to run OS4. Also Hyperion would need atleast 20k euro for the porting job as well, so i doubt anyone finds this little community worth that investment.
